Bahram Ghadiri Khamjani
My passion for the cultural heritage of ancient Iran began in my youth through extensive travel and the study of history. As I explored the country’s remarkable historical sites, I developed a deep appreciation for the richness and diversity of Iran’s civilization.
This passion grew even stronger when I began teaching architectural conservation and the preservation of historic buildings and cities. It was further strengthened through my professional work in the restoration of numerous historic monuments across Iran. Each conservation project deepened my understanding of the country’s extraordinary cultural legacy and reinforced my commitment to protecting it for future generations.
Over the years, I also had the privilege of leading many academic field trips with my students to historic cities throughout Iran. Together, we documented cultural heritage sites, conducted research, and prepared conservation and restoration proposals. These experiences, combined with years of teaching at the Schools of Architecture and Urban Planning at the National University of Iran (now Shahid Beheshti University), the University of Isfahan, and Yazd University, as well as writing numerous books and scholarly articles, further enriched my knowledge and strengthened my lifelong dedication to Iran’s history and culture.
Now, after more than forty years of academic, professional, and field experience, I have established the Foundation for Persian Archaeological Studies (FPAS) with the support of fellow scholars and dedicated friends who share the same vision.
Our mission is to present the history and cultural heritage of ancient Iran to a broad audience through accurate scientific research, archaeological discoveries, and reliable historical evidence. By using clear, accessible language, we hope to make this remarkable heritage understandable and inspiring for everyone who wishes to learn about one of the world’s oldest civilizations.
